Common Unicode Characters
The Common script designates punctuation marks, mathematical symbols, digits, and typographical glyphs used across global writing systems rather than belonging to any single script.

Script vs. Block Distinction: In the Unicode Standard, a Script identifies a functional writing system and frequently spans multiple distinct blocks (e.g. Common characters appear across 93 blocks). Conversely, a Block is merely a contiguous geometric range of code points that may contain characters belonging to different scripts.
